A major volunteer campaign was launched at the Kirkuk Medical Technical Institute to mark International Volunteer Day.

Following the directives of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, the Kirkuk Medical Technical Institute launched a large-scale volunteer campaign to commemorate International Volunteer Day. The campaign was led by the Dean of the Institute, Assistant Professor Dr. Lizan Medhat Mohammed, along with the Vice Deans, heads of academic departments, and a number of faculty, staff, and students.

 

The volunteer work included:

 

🔹 First: Cleaning and maintaining the university environment

 

Volunteer teams began cleaning the institute’s internal and external courtyards, including:

 

• Removing debris and waste.

 

• Tidying up the gardens and maintaining the green spaces.

 

• Cleaning the corridors, halls, and public areas.

 

These efforts aim to create a healthy and attractive learning environment for students.

 

🔹 Second: A Health and Service Campaign for Students and Visitors

 

Within the framework of community service, the academic departments launched health activities that included:

 

• Blood pressure and blood sugar level measurements, supervised by faculty and students of the Nursing Technology Department.

 

• Blood typing and identification by the Pharmacy Technology Department.

 

• Health awareness sessions on the importance of regular checkups and methods of preventing chronic diseases.

 

These tests were offered free of charge to students and affiliates, with the aim of spreading health awareness and encouraging preventative behavior within the university community.

 

🔹 An educational seminar entitled “Developing Students’ Skills Through Volunteer Work,” presented by the Media and Government Communication Division and the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Unit.

 

🔹 Promoting Teamwork

 

The Dean of the Institute emphasized that this initiative aligns with the university’s commitment to fostering a spirit of volunteerism and social responsibility, instilling values ​​of cooperation and belonging to the educational institution, and providing students with practical experience in health and service work.
