Kirkuk Medical Technical Institute Organizes Workshop on Sustainable Investments and Corporate Social Responsibility
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the supervision of the Dean of Kirkuk Medical Technical Institute, Assistant Professor Dr. Lizan Medhat Mohammed, the institute organized a workshop entitled “Sustainable Investments and Corporate Social Responsibility.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Mona Jabbar, with the participation of faculty members, staff, and students. This initiative is part of the institute’s efforts to promote awareness of sustainable development concepts and support effective community initiatives.
The workshop addressed modern concepts of sustainable investment, which is no longer limited to achieving financial returns alone. Instead, it now focuses on integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria into business strategies, contributing to balanced and sustainable economic growth.
The workshop also highlighted the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) as a moral and legal obligation requiring institutions and the business sector to actively contribute to community development, environmental protection, and mitigating the effects of climate change, thereby ensuring the preservation of the rights of future generations and achieving a balance between economic development and social welfare.
The workshop aimed to achieve a number of strategic objectives, most notably promoting a culture of ethical and sustainable investment among academics, students, and various sectors.
