The Medical Technical Institute/Kirkuk organized an awareness seminar entitled “Mass Graves: A Nation’s Memory and a Testimony to History.”
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the supervision of the Dean of the Medical Technical Institute/Kirkuk, Assistant Professor Dr. Lizan Medhat Mohammed, the Institute’s Human Rights Unit organized an awareness seminar entitled “Mass Graves: A Nation’s Memory and a Testimony to History.”
The seminar’s lecture was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Jamal Fateh Ali, who addressed the concept of mass graves and their role as historical evidence of the crimes and violations suffered by the Iraqi people. He emphasized the importance of documenting the facts, preserving national memory, and protecting the rights of victims.
The seminar also highlighted the humanitarian, social, and legal implications of mass graves, their role in establishing the values of justice and human rights, and raising awareness among students and faculty about the importance of remembering these painful events as part of Iraq’s contemporary history. This seminar is part of a series of awareness-raising activities implemented by the Human Rights Unit at the Institute, with the aim of spreading the culture of human rights and enhancing community awareness of national and humanitarian issues.
