The Community Health Techniques Department Organizes a Scientific Course on Cancer Cell Lines and Their Research Significance
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Jasim Fathi Al-Maadidi, and supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Lizan Midhat Mohammed, Dean of the Medical Technical Institute/Kirkuk, the Community Health Techniques Department—in collaboration with the Institute’s Continuing Education Unit—organized a scientific course titled:
“Important Cancer Cell Lines to Research”
The course was presented by:
Asst. Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Saeed and Assistant Lecturer Jiamjid Wahab.
The course aimed to introduce key cancer cell lines used in scientific research and to highlight their role in studying cancer biology and testing various treatments. It also sought to familiarize participants with the characteristics of these cell lines and their importance in conducting laboratory studies and experiments related to cancer.
Furthermore, the course addressed the significance of utilizing cancer cell lines to advance medical research and evaluate the efficacy of anti-cancer drugs and therapies, thereby contributing to the enhancement of research and scientific capabilities among students and researchers.
The course concluded with recommendations to encourage researchers and students to utilize cancer cell lines in scientific research, adhere to proper handling procedures and laboratory safety standards, and deepen their understanding of the role these lines play in the development of modern anti-cancer drugs and treatments.
