A volunteer campaign on the occasion of Iraqi Environment Day, titled “Our Footprint in Protecting the Environment”
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and with the supervision and attendance of Assistant Professor Dr. Lizan Medhat Muhammad, the Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Unit, in cooperation with the Media and Government Communication Division (the Institute’s volunteer team) and the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Unit, organized a special volunteer campaign on the occasion of Iraqi Environment Day under the slogan “Our Footprint in Protecting the Environment.” The campaign aimed to raise environmental awareness and instill the concept of social responsibility among students and members of the Institute.
The campaign aimed to highlight the importance of protecting the environment and preserving natural resources through a series of activities, including clean-up campaigns within the Institute’s campus and surrounding areas, in addition to distributing awareness leaflets urging sound environmental practices such as reducing plastic use, encouraging recycling, and rationalizing water and electricity consumption.
The campaign saw active participation from students and faculty, who demonstrated a spirit of cooperation and teamwork, reflecting the educational institution’s concern for the environment as a national and humanitarian issue. This initiative is part of a series of activities aimed at promoting a culture of environmental innovation and supporting green initiatives, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the role of educational institutions in instilling environmental awareness in future generations.
