The Medical Technical Institute in Kirkuk Organizes an Awareness Seminar on the Role of Civil Society in Combating Corruption

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and supervised by the Dean of the Medical Technical Institute in Kirkuk, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lizan Midhat Mohammed, the Administrative Corruption Unit (Legal Division) organized an awareness seminar titled “The Role of Civil Society in Combating Corruption.” The seminar was presented by Ms. Namam Qudrat Abdullah Suleiman and Ms. Nibras Jassim Hammadi.

The seminar aimed to raise awareness regarding the vital role civil society organizations play in embedding values ​​of integrity, transparency, and accountability. It highlighted the importance of cooperation with government institutions to curb corruption, while also promoting a culture of legal compliance and the protection of public funds.

Furthermore, the seminar addressed the concept of corruption, its causes, and its impact on society. It examined the role of civil society in raising awareness, encouraging community participation, and reporting instances of corruption, thereby contributing to the creation of a more transparent and ethical institutional environment.

In conclusion, the speakers emphasized the importance of continuing to hold such awareness-raising activities, given their effective role in fostering legal literacy and reinforcing social responsibility.
