The Medical Technical Institute/Kirkuk Organizes a Workshop on the Relationship Between Mental Health and Drug Use
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Lizan Medhat Mohammed, Dean of the Medical Technical Institute/Kirkuk, the Community Health Technologies Department, in cooperation with the Psychological and Educational Counseling Unit, organized a workshop entitled “The Relationship Between Mental Health and Drug Use Among University Students.”
The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturers Jia Majeed Wahab and Hawar Sabah Abdullah. Its topics included defining mental health and drugs, the reasons for drug use, the relationship between them, and their effects.
The workshop aimed to raise student awareness, explain the reasons for drug use, and offer solutions and recommendations, most notably spreading awareness, providing psychological support, and activating university counseling services.
