The Medical Technical Institute/Kirkuk Organizes a Scientific Workshop on Maternal and Child Health within the Framework of Sustainable Development Goals
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Lizan Medhat Mohammed (Dean of the Medical Technical Institute/Kirkuk), and in cooperation with the University’s Quality Assurance and Performance Division, the Nursing Department held a scientific workshop entitled:
(Maternal and Child Health as a Pillar of Sustainable Development: Updates and Solutions)
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the importance of maternal and child health as one of the most important indicators of sustainable development, and to connect scientific aspects with contemporary health challenges.
The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Iman Salman Hassan, who addressed several topics, including the importance of maternal and child health, the latest medical updates in maternal and child care, the role of digital transformation in improving health services, the impact of climate change and environmental pollution, and the connection of this field to the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the most prominent health challenges and proposed solutions to enhance healthcare.
The workshop emphasized the importance of raising health awareness, developing the skills of nursing staff, expanding the use of modern technologies, and strengthening cooperation between health and educational institutions in order to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
