The role of health education in quitting smoking

The Medical Technical Institute/Kirkuk Concludes a Workshop on the Role of Health Education in Smoking Cessation

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Lizan Medhat Mohammed, Dean of the Medical Technical Institute/Kirkuk, the Community Health Technologies Department, in cooperation with the Biosecurity Unit and the University’s Educational Guidance Division, organized a scientific workshop entitled “The Role of Health Education in Smoking Cessation.”

The workshop was presented by:

• Ms. Samira Hassan Abdullah

• Assistant Professor Dr. Suzan Adel Rashid

• Mr. Hawari Sabah Abdullah

The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of health education in helping smokers quit, by explaining the health, social, and economic impacts of smoking, as well as reviewing the most effective methods and approaches to support quitting.

The workshop contributed to raising participants’ awareness of the importance of health education and its role in improving the ability to quit smoking and overcoming the challenges and obstacles that individuals may face during this stage.
