A scientific visit by first-year students of the Community Health Technologies Department to a primary healthcare center (Baghdad Road) in Kirkuk

The Medical Technical Institute/Kirkuk, Department of Community Health Technologies, organizes a scientific visit to a primary healthcare center (Baghdad Road)

Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and the supervision of the Dean of the Medical Technical Institute/Kirkuk, Assistant Professor Dr. Lizan Medhat Mohammed, the institute organized a scientific visit for first-year students of the Department of Community Health Technologies to a primary healthcare center (Baghdad Road) in Kirkuk. This visit was part of the practical curriculum for the Community Health Services course.

The visit was supervised by:

• Zainab Jamal Saleh

The visit aimed to familiarize students with the nature of health services provided at primary healthcare centers, to learn about the center’s units and their operational mechanisms, and to understand patients’ needs and feedback. The visit included an introduction to the center’s key services, such as routine checkups, vaccination programs, medical consultations, treatment of minor cases, and referral of critical cases to hospitals. The center also provides essential medications and laboratory services, in addition to holding awareness seminars conducted by the medical staff.

The visit also enhanced the students’ practical skills by exposing them to preventative screenings, methods for diagnosing and treating common diseases, and the management of chronic cases. Furthermore, the students gained valuable experience in health education and patient communication.
