Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Lizan Medhat Muhammad (Dean of the Kirkuk Technical Medical Institute), the Department of Pharmacy Technology concluded a scientific course entitled “Pregnant Nutrition and Sustainable Development”

The course covered:
Pregnant nutrition is one of the fundamental factors affecting the health of the pregnant woman and the fetus. Proper nutrition contributes to reducing complications during pregnancy and childbirth and enhances the child’s chances of healthy growth. It also contributes to achieving sustainable development by improving overall health and reducing food poverty.
The course aimed to:
1. Educate participants about the importance of proper nutrition during pregnancy and its direct impact on the health of the mother and fetus.
2. Identify the essential nutrients a pregnant woman needs to ensure a healthy pregnancy.
3. Discuss the health consequences of malnutrition during pregnancy and its impact on the fetus and its development.
4. Promote the concept of sustainable development in nutrition by encouraging the consumption of healthy and sustainable foods.
5. Provide practical nutritional strategies that help pregnant women achieve a balanced and nutritious diet.
6. Raise awareness of the role of health organizations in supporting pregnant women’s nutrition, especially in areas suffering from food shortages.
7. Highlight modern technologies and applications that help improve pregnant women’s nutrition.
8. Encourage pregnant women to adopt healthy eating habits that support child development and maintain maternal health after childbirth.
