Kirkuk Technical Medical Institute Concludes a Scientific Course on “Good Health and Well-being – Goal 3 of the Sustainable Development Goals”
Under the patronage of the President of the Northern Technical University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar,
and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Lizan Medhat Mohammed (Dean of the Kirkuk Technical Medical Institute), the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology concludes a course on “Good Health and Well-being – Goal 3 of the Sustainable Development Goals” in cooperation with the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division.
The course was presented by:
Assistant Professor Dr. Iman Salman Hassan
The seminar covered:
1. Introduction to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
2. Focus on Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being.
3. Indicators related to this goal, such as:
• Reducing maternal and child mortality rates.
• Eliminating epidemics (AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, etc.).
• Universal health coverage.
• Access to essential medicines and vaccines.
4. Health challenges in developing countries.
5. The relationship between health, education, poverty, and the environment. 6. The role of national policies and international organizations in supporting health.
The course aimed to:
Raise awareness of the importance of public health for achieving sustainable development.
• Build participants’ capacity to analyze health indicators and link them to development.
• Encourage local initiatives to promote health and well-being.
